what's up guys welcome to grapple donating to a twitch streamer is one of the kindest things
you can do for them not only does it give them a little
backing and provide them with money for their efforts but it also shows that you
care about them the donation system that twitch uses makes directly supporting
your favorite content creators easier than ever before but it can also be
risky the fact that it's so simple makes it very easy to accidentally donate the
wrong amounts to people and in large quantities it can be really detrimental
to the donator however this can also result in some very crazy and
entertaining stream moments which is exactly what we'll be talking about
today here are a few crazy accidental twitch donations before we get started
though make sure to leave a comments letting us know the biggest donation
you've ever given to a live streamer and don't forget to subscribe that way you
enter in in our monthly shout-out giveaway number seven this first example
is rather small but it's a perfect showcase of what's to come further down
on the list a couple years ago Oprah's LLP was streaming some minecraft
drawing mini-games with his friends when one of his real life friends donated to
him for fun he wanted to donate 50 Cent's and call it a day but he
accidentally typed in the wrong numbers and sent him $50 I know that's not a lot
of money but it's around a hundred times what he initially wanted to send which
of course prompted him to ask for the money back jokingly the streamer
declined and said he was keeping the money but after the donator begged him
for the money back he stopped messing around and refunded the money be careful
when you donate guys $50 is a lot more than 50 cents
wait a minute from caustic you just did you really just donate $50 yeah you did
dude I don't care dude I'm gonna do 50 cent nope says right here dude come on
number 6 being that ninja is such a big streamer he gets a lot of donations all
the time so eventually someone was bound to make a mistake this random kid wanted
to donate 5 dollars to ninja to get a message to him and to show him some
support but of course he missed the decimal point and donated none other
than $500 it was a kid too so I don't even think it was his credit card it was
probably his parents ninja was initially shocked and of course denied the
donation was legit the kid shortly got in contact with him and explained the
scenario and ninja was kind enough to refund the money what a nice guy
I'm Andres it oh my blood did you add did you actually mean five he's trolling
right I'll refund the [ __ ] item of course I will
number five no matter who or what you watch on Twitch the most consistent
donations often come from moderators most mods have a more personal
connection with streamers thus they are recognized and acknowledged more within
streams and feel more obligated to donate in this case the streamer was
streaming csgo when one of his mods donated 1337 dollars instead of the
intended $13.30 at first summit 1g was so excited and joked around about giving
the guy more privileges in his streams like super mod or even becoming his
editor then as he read chat he slowly began to realize that it was all a mistake
he quickly agreed to refund the money and recovered from that whirlwind of
emotions with relative ease good on you summit 1g I'm making you but you're
gonna be an editor in the channel but thank you so much for the 1337 dollars
can we get someone cheese in the chat what it was only one way what happened
did you accidentally give $1000 show number for this donation blunder is more
funny than anything else the Djibouti show was streaming some
dayz on Twitch and someone wanted to donate a specific amount that
corresponded with the time of day that they were donating the guy was watching
at 7:16 a.m. and meant to donate seven dollars and sixteen cents
however he screwed up the decimal point like that kid in the last entry and
donated seven hundred and sixteen dollars the second it happened that shot
exploded in a frenzy and the Djibouti guys freaked out shortly after the
craziness died down the guys said that they would sort out the refund
later and that the guy who made the mistake shouldn't worry and thank God -
if they had kept the money that would have been so unbelievably cruel he could
have needed that for his rent did he be module I don't think he did it
said seven dollars to look into that dude tell a river Wow yeah thank you so
much for the gesture maybe we'll see what we can do to wow this game twitch a
good percentage of money for free
basically number three well streaming
the game Emily wants to play sodapoppin
received a donation of $1,100 out of
nowhere he was absolutely shocked even
to the point that he pretty much
entirely stopped focusing on the game I
mean it makes sense a donation over a
thousand dollars is mind-blowing after
he died one more time
he changed windows on his computer and
went onto PayPal to check the legitimacy
of the donation it was 100% real but
there was a catch of course being that
this donation was a mistake the guy
messaged him saying that he meant to
donate only eleven dollars not 1100
sodapoppin was clearly not pleased about
it he got so excited and so amped up
that finding out it was an accident was
an absolute bummer
hey man at the end of the day someone is
donating to you I get you were expecting
a lot more money than that but it was a
mistake shortly after this event though
the streamer kindly refunded the money
I'm sure it hurt but good job so to pop
in I think that was eleven hundred
dollars from someone from pan thoroughly
and he came in with a gun tab to
double-check on this didn't I legit I'm
going to twitch alerts I'm double
checking to make sure that's actually
legit I'm actually gonna also open my
PayPal I'm not gonna brown with this
kind of amount like that's so much money
wait you meant to give me eleven dollars
okay ah darn it I were funded for you
man
I'm sending it back don't worry I see
you in the chat asking for a refund
don't worry issue a refund yada yada
yada
number two in terms of actual dollars
spent this entry is less mind-blowing
however the repercussions of this kids
actions were pretty bad basically a kid
in one of ninja's live streams had
received money from a recent birthday
and decided to donate to him twice both
donations equated to twenty dollars ten
dollars each and that was all the money
exchanged it seems rather
inconsequential until you realize that
the kid's mom got very mad at him for
spending this much money in such a
stupid way the mom forced the kid to ask
for a refund and ninja refused he then
taught the kid a life lesson stating
that he should really think about how he
spends his money and if this is how he
wanted to spend his money in the first
place then he should be satisfied and
move on his approach was kind of rude
but at least the kid learned something
new here this guy goes to a ninja my mom
got mad at me for donating to you some
of my birthday money so can you please
refund this $10 donation and the other
one my guy I'm gonna teach you something
right now all right I would teach you
two things number one a life lesson
spend your money wisely
I will not already fund you number two
it's your money
so just because your mom wants you
donate it back or like didn't want it
that they know your money use it when
you need it don't listen to mom all the
time
number one
most accidental twitch donations involve
a couple hundred to about a thousand
dollars but this one tops these amounts
by a longshot
while watching Maximilian dudes stream
Marvel vs. Capcom infinite someone
donated ten thousand dollars to him out
of nowhere his jaw dropped immediately
at the sight of it and he had no idea
what to say after collecting his
thoughts he was convinced that the
sizeable donation was an accident this
is where the story gets interesting
apparently he was right in assuming that
it was an accident the guy who donated
the incredibly large amount of money
only wanted to donate a thousand which
is still an amazing amount of money to
donate
jingis that you didn't mean to do that
you didn't mean to do that that's an
accident okay that's an accident
