animation is a beautiful form of media as it gives filmmakers and show writers limitless creative possibilities if you're a filmmaker or writer and you want to make a TV show about the craziest thing possible you can do that well animation is incredible in all it certainly isn't immune to mistakes in fact it's far from it being the painstaking process that animation is sometimes mistakes and story errors happen and sometimes they also slip through the editing room so let's have a look at some interesting examples of animation mistakes that slipped through editing before we get started though let's go all the way back to its very first episode during the end of the sitcom's first episode roasting on an open fire Homer brings home the beloved family pet Santa's Little Helper marge is very happy about this and goes over to embrace Homer but do you notice anything take a long hard look well the background is completely upside-down this issue is resolved in a later shopped but I'm honestly not surprised that nobody noticed this mistake I mean I didn't until I started researching for this video but what about you guys leave a comment down below in the meantime though here's a clip of this hilarious editing mistake the Super Mario Bros Super Show is packed full of animation mistakes but this one is a personal favorite as it's not even subtle during the episode two plumbers and a baby Mario and Luigi make what they call a Koopa catcher out of plumbing pipes but as the shot reveals this invention of theirs Luigi's hat is the wrong color and it's not even like it's the wrong color for just a single frame or something it stays the wrong color for the entire shot so it's obvious that the animators or editors knew about this but couldn't find the time to actually fix it which makes sense [Music] but it's open gotcha Oh Mario another incredibly obvious animation mistake comes from the show Dexter's Laboratory in the episode chubby cheese's Dexter is put through torture in a chubby cheese restaurant in this pretty trippy episode for those who couldn't guess chubby cheese is quite obviously a Platon parody of the popular restaurant chain chucky cheese when a musical number performed by the chubby cheese animatronics reaches its climax there's a pretty excited reaction from the audience so much so that they start flying now this could be intentional due to the trippy nature of the episode but it has been confirmed as a mistake and I gotta say it's pretty hilarious here's a blip in hunk of Grape Ape in the spongebob episode missing identity spongebob loses his nametag in order to find his nametag spongebob feels the best way to do so is to retrace his steps and Patrick is of course in on the plan now it's kind of hard to notice but when spongebob is explaining his plan to Patrick if you look closely you'll notice that there's something a little off about this shot something seems to be missing well this is because Squidward's iconic house is absolutely nowhere to be seen all you can see is spongebob in Patrick's houses for some reason I guess SpongeBob's nametag wasn't the only thing missing in this episode [Music] let's be real shrek is iconic in more ways than one not only is he the Internet's most beloved meme but he's also one of the most recognizable faces in animation this is all due to the children's book by William Steig simply titled Shrek that inspired the 2001 animated movie of the same name there are many great scenes in this movie however my personal favorite is the Merry Men scene well Fiona Shrek and Donkey are travelling through a forest they are confronted by Robin Hood and his Merry Men who are trying to attack shrek due to the fact that he's an ogre this then triggers a Bruce Lee style brawl where Fiona shows off her very impressive moves I don't know about you guys but at the time I was not expecting that from Fiona when the fight is over Shrek just like all of us is absolutely stunned by Fiona skills which causes him to drop Donkey now this may seem odd but look at Shrek's but after he drops donkey there's nothing out of the ordinary right I mean it's just Shrek's but after a few lines of dialogue though suddenly Shrek has an arrow stuck up his you-know-what where in the world did this hero come from here's a clip shall we one has to learn these things in case there's a there's an arrow in your butt what would you look at number one oh gosh here we go now I'm sure that I do not need to introduce you to the song let it go from the movie frozen I mean you have probably heard this song about a million times by now without even wanting to but hey as sick as we are frozen is a pretty good movie with some incredible animation but despite the incredible animation there is one animation flaw and the lediko scene which is ironic considering it's the most memorable scene from the movie when elsa lets her hair down she reveals this wonderful long braid that she flips over her shoulder or does she actually if you pay close attention her hair doesn't flip over her shoulder instead it clips straight through it now I will say it's an incredibly subtle mistake but after this clip you won't be able to watch this scene the same way again
