everybody loves waterslides they're fun
they're thrilling and they're the best
way to cool yourself in summertime but
sadly they can also be quite dangerous
if the ones who made them were not
responsible enough numerous injuries and
even deaths have led to some water
slides being banned so today we'll be
looking into ten of them Aquasphere the
troubled water slide at the peninsula
aquatic recreational center in Australia
was closed up once but two times with
the first time being even before the
facility officially opened since Parc is
owned by Frankston council a closed
session was held for its staff and their
families in 2014 unfortunately the
session didn't go exactly as planned and
the waterslide was closed until the
issue was resolved while the slide was
operational after that the second
incident happened only two years later
after which it was closed once again
according to an eyewitness a boy aged
about 7 was lying lifeless on the ground
after being thrown out of the tube and
knocked around inside the slide the
boy's father and older brother rushed to
his aid but the unfortunate kid blacked
out for nearly 15 minutes after the
eyewitness said later on Parc CEO Tim
Gledhill confirmed that an incident
occurred saying that they're working
with the manufacturer of the slide to
investigate the cause and that the slide
will remain closed during that time

located in Canada's largest themed water
park called Calypso steamer slide was
the reason the waterpark faced a large
number of lawsuits over claims of
injuries the charges related to the
incidents that happened way back in 2011
and 2012
apparently the park officials haven't
reported any of the incidents didn't
have proper equipment that would ensure
the rider safety and to top it all off
the staff wasn't properly trained as
well out of 20 charges the waterpark
faced 14 were related to three separate
incidents involving the infamous teamer
slide as one man suffered a fractured
skull one woman's stoop hit the wall at
the end of the slide numerous people
reported suffering neck injuries and at
one point two tubes even crashed steamer
slide was eventually banned and had to
be shut down by the waterpark up next we
have the Sahara Sidewinders ride at the
Kalahari resort in Wisconsin Dells the
60-foot tall indoor water slide drop
riders from a trapdoor chamber into one
of two looping slides advertises the
only indoor looping water slides in the
nation and when they were added to the
park in 2011 they were called the first
of their kind in the world
such innovations always come with a fair
share of concerns that proved to be
justified when a teenager was injured
while riding the waterslide
the boy's family sued the resort and the
lawsuit was ultimately successful
because as it turned out there were
several other complaints which were
ignored because the resort knew the ride
was unsafe and risky but did absolutely
nothing about it
with so many lawsuits and safety
violations piling up the waterslide had
to be closed down by the resort in the
end
and over 51 meters or 168 feet and 7
inches bericht in Kansas City Water Park
became the world's tallest waterslide
when it opened in 2014 and with the
length of 183 metres or 601 feet it is
also among the longest slides and it is
definitely one of the craziest rides
which is hardly surprising considering
it is literally called crazy or insane
in German not only was the 70 stories
tall slide taller than Niagara Falls in
offering a pretty awesome view from the
top but you could also hit speeds of up
to 65 miles per hour thanks to an almost
90-degree drop in crazy rushing water
sounds like a terrifying experience well
for some it sadly turned out to be a lot
worse than just terrifying on August 7th
2016 the ten-year-old son of Kansas
state representative Scott Schwab died
while riding Brooks when the raft he was
in went airborne and impact to the
middle support of the netting amusement
parks and fades but it's supposed to be
quintessential family fun turned tragic
for one family as a 10 year old boy is
killed in a waterpark slide the two
other passengers both women were injured
in the incident with one suffering a
broken jaw while the other suffered a
facial bone fracture and needed stitches

up next we don't just have a waterslide
but an entire resort where the slide was
located banned and closed due to a whole
list of violations even though four
Rapids indoor water park and resort
advertises itself as the perfect family
fun travel destination where 60,000
square feet of what and wild fun is
waiting for the whole family they fail
to mention that it's only the case if
the guests are really into bedbugs
cockroaches bad air quality fire code
violations food poisoning and being
sickened from the themes in the
waterpark as problems and complaints
kept piling up the place was ultimately
closed in 2015 by pretty much every
agency out there as if that wasn't bad
enough two years after the closure a
water pipe burst and the upper floors
and poured out of the windows and vents
turning into ice as it ran down the
walls of the hotel due to low
temperature
wet'n wild waterparks black hole is
another infamous waterslide that has
earned the waterpark a number of
lawsuits located in Orlando Florida the
park that is considered America's first
waterpark was founded way back in 1977
but it eventually closed in 2016 the
first incident occurred back in 1994
when a man rode the black hole slide the
twisting ride where the guests are shot
down a dark tube on a 2-person float
with his family on their way down the
man was struck by something and when his
float exited the bottom he couldn't move
his legs
a moment later an empty inner tube came
out and because of the injuries the man
eventually had a titanium plate
surgically planted into his neck
naturally what and Wilde claimed that
nothing was wrong with their ride and
even if there was something wrong it
wasn't the case of the maz neck injury
the entire thing was taken to court and
what does has testified that the floats
were getting stuck in the black hole's
ooze in a daily basis and that it takes
23 seconds for a float to pass through
the black hole but what in while decided
to send another one after only 20
seconds in addition to that even the wet
and wild clay that their rod was in good
shape they sued the company that made it
claiming it was defective before
Geronimo falls at the action park in New
Jersey closed it was considered to be
one of the most extreme water slides at
the time due to its steepness that had
the riders actually flying in the air
instead of sticking to the waterslide
surface experiencing speeds of around 60
miles per hour to try and solve the
problem the decision-makers at the water
park installed the metal grade over the
opening of the slide which resulted in
people being slammed onto it and then
being bounced back down into the slide
this obviously wasn't the best solution
because numerous people were severely
injured and some have even died so the
park had no options but to ban the
waterslide from use
located at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio
shoot the rapids was a western-themed
flume water ride opened in 2010 staying
in line with the theme it was based on
the aggressive ride took people on the
journey through western environments
with elements of an illegal moonshine
business over time the ride proved to be
one of the most popular ways to beat the
heat but that changed in 2013 what an
incident occurred in the ride
malfunctioned during the thrill ride one
of the boats accidentally rolled down
the rides first hill and flipped over in
the water which resulted in seven people
being injured operators stop the water
ride after the accident and along with
police officers and medical personnel
located in the park jumped into the
water to help the unfortunate passengers
who were belted into the boat and
trapped initially the parks officials
didn't disclose how the boat landed
after rolling downhill but witnesses
claimed that the boat flipped upside
down or on its side after the accident
six of the seven boat passengers and the
log fumé were evaluated and treated at
the park and then were released while
the other one was taken to a hospital
for further evaluation before being
released ultimately the ride remained
closed for the rest of the season before
being completely demolished after only
five seasons
cannonball ooh a waterslide that put
riders through a complete vertical loop
was another infamous attraction that
action park shrouded in mystery the
rumor has it that the slide was open for
one whole month in December of 1985
before being shut down by the New Jersey
carnival amusement ride Safety Advisory
Board not many people actually got the
chance to ride it though except the park
employees who had to test it and a few
brave souls who suffered a great deal of
injuries one of the rumors even goes as
far as to say the test dummies that went
through the waterslide came out missing
limbs so if you haven't been among the
brave ones right then and there you can
forget about ever going on it

when disney river country opened its
winding slides and wooden bridges
attracted countless visitors as everyone
wanted to take a ride
while the park promised to be lots of
fun it did suffer the first and a rather
big setback only four years after
opening when in 1980 an eleven year old
boy contracted a medical condition that
resembles both meningitis and
encephalitis and is basically an
infection of the nervous system and
brain caused by an amoeba in the water
unfortunately the boy died shortly after
because the rare disease is fatal in
most cases but Disney wasn't punished in
any way because the amoeba can breed in
practically any freshwater when the
weather is hot still that wasn't the end
of it because just two years later a
fourteen-year-old boy drowned after
falling into the lake at the end of the
whooping holler slide naturally the
boy's family sued Disney because there
weren't any posters warning about how
deep the water was and in addition to
that a lifeguard testified in court that
dozens of people needed to be rescued
from the slide on a daily basis despite
everything the park continued to operate
as Disney only had to pay a settlement
of three hundred and seventy five
thousand dollars but the tragedy struck
again in 1989 when another 13 year old
kid drowned at the park
however the park still continued to work
even though the number of visitors
drastically decreased until Disney
ultimately announced its permanent
closure in 2005 without given an
official reason for doing
